LIFE // looking back to look forward

time freaks me out.  I always forget when I am doing something, or making something, or snapping something, or listening to something that one day, as a result of time, I will look back and remember those things and the memories that went with them.  I always say to myself that I want to take more photos.  It isn’t until it is 2012 and I look back at flickr photos from 2010 that I realise why.

Los Angeles highlight?

Visiting the LACMA and seeing Charles and Ray Eames actual living room on display.  As in, taken from their house, then set up in the museum, with the actual furniture and bits and pieces, as it was, in their home.

The rest of the California Design exhibition was equally mind blowing.  See here.  And here.  Honestly, it felt naughty it was that good.

// first two images were taken by me, the third is of course the beautiful Eames DCW dining chair.

life // home

I just arrived home from an amazing New York (+ Los Angeles) adventure with the most amazing Angela D’Alton.  As a result of Ange’s Etsy job, I was able to be involved in some pretty amazing things.  Such as meeting super special people and wearing an Etsy badge whilst helping out at the Etsy Success Symposium.  Pinching myself right about now.

Snaps are by me, you can see many many more at Paris + Berlin (and yes, we need to change the name to include Sydney, Los Angeles and NEW YORK).

love // did I tell you I am going to NYC?

in a few weeks too.
I almost can’t breathe I am so excited.  suggestions?

PART ONE // MORE TOMORROW

a very long time ago (ok, so it was less than 12 months but probably about 11) I did some illustrations for a wine event called FEAST.  it was pretty fun exploring all the different wine regions across Australia (visually, not physically!) and making little pictures to represent them all.  although little isn’t quite right.  these were actually printed 2 m x 3 m on huge panels on display at the event.  I haven’t even seen a picture so I can’t say if it looked any good, but here are the digital versions…
